Spiders and Drugs: A Familiar Story

I assumed the video i was watching was merely a rehash of the pictures of experiments where spiders were given different drugs and then alterations in their web designs were recorded. This web represents that of a spider on Marijuana.

I thought this video would be on the same topic, but boy was I in for a treat.

Some friendly advice.

You may not know it, but reading all messages and data on your phone can be legal for a cop to search under current American law. If you have given a cop proper reason for a search, that search will include all data contained on your person, including data on a phone.

The 2007 Decision of United States v. Finley in the Fifth Circuit courts set a precedent whereby cops are allowed to search for additional evidence on the arrestee's person, which includes phones, in order to preserve it for trial.

If you are in any trouble, it may prove to be an intelligent decision to put your phone somewhere that isn't accessible without a warrant.

The Next Viral Video Internet Celebrity

Corey Worthington - The Next Viral Video Internet Star

Got his start on, A Current Affair, an Australian tabloid show that was interviewing him due to of a party he threw. The 500 so odd party-goers are claimed to have:
  • terrorized neighbors
  • vandalized cars
  • chased off cops
A video account of the situation on YouTube breaks it down:

It's not just that helicopters and dog squads were called in, or that the damages are over $20,000, that make this kid a bad ass. It's his refusal to take off his glasses, or to show any semblance of remorse, that make his story all the greater.

It continues below:

His parents are angry at him, but he refuses to pick up their calls, and he begins to start to look kind of lame, and that he is likely going to just go home.

In that clip, he looks like he is enjoying his time on the beach, while his parents worry about where he is. It appears he is starting to be portrayed as a douche bag.

Is this just clever media spin? Personally, I never thought that the Don't Tase Me Bro dude was a douche, but the way it was portrayed in the national media really made it look like he was. He should have never been tased for what he said, period. The cops were the biggest douches there, hands down.

His videos were marking the rounds this week, showing up on a variety of social networking sites and bringing in over 200,000 video views all around the net. Graphic Tshirts, an early indicator of viral internet trends, are already in the works, including this BustedTee's Shirt. It's scary how quickly they pick up on this stuff. In addition, there is a Save Corey Website that has an image that can be screen printed onto a tshirt.

As of tonight, there are over 50 groups regarding Corey Worthington, the number of groups proclaiming him a hero only slightly outnumber those denouncing him a wanker. One of my favorites fan groups of his, is the, Corey Delaney for the Board of Governors of the US Federal Reserve System group.

People are interested in having him host parties and there are over 173,00 references in Google. This kid is going to get bigger and bigger. I wonder if he'll ever take off those glasses.
